The reagent is obtained by reduction of PdCl2(Ph3P)2 with hydrazine or prepared by reaction of Pd2(dba)3 with PPh3. Tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium is sensitive to light and air and needs to be stored in an inert gas away from light. When using this reagent, it can be operated in the air for short periods, but preferably in vacuum equipment under nitrogen or argon protection.
