1. Tetraethylammonium hydroxide is an organic quaternary ammonium base. Most of the commercial products exist in the form of methanol and aqueous solution. It is a colorless to light yellow liquid at room temperature. It has strong alkalinity and can absorb carbon dioxide in the air and decompose by heating .
2. It has extremely wide applications in the field of industrial scientific research. It is used as phase transfer catalyst, template agent for molecular sieve synthesis, cleaning agent and dedoping agent for petroleum industry.
3. Using aniline and ethyl bromide as raw materials, using tetraethylammonium hydroxide as a phase transfer catalyst to synthesize N,N-diethylaniline under normal pressure
