- Simagel is a hydrophilic colloid with pseudoplastic flow properties, it is a viscosity improver and thickener for creams, lotions, shampoos and hair care products, it can suspend and disperse powdered pigments to give the best colour and a fine, smooth organisation.
- Used as a thickening agent for toothpaste Chemicalbook, it can be used in conjunction with CMC to improve the thixotropy and dispersibility of toothpaste.
- Simagel is also used in pharmaceuticals to control the pouring properties of oral suspensions and emulsions, helping to get homogeneous doses of product.
- It can also be used in the production of tablets. In metal and automotive polishes, tile and glass cleaners to suspend the friction agents in them and stabilise emulsions. Used in white shoe polish to suspend pigments to prevent hardening of the product.
- In toothpaste, it has good compatibility with natural and synthetic gums and improves the structure of the strips.
