Uses of Tributyl Phosphate
Mainly used as a solvent, it is also often used as a plasticizer for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, chlorinated rubber and polyvinyl chloride, an extractant for rare metals, etc., as a heat exchange medium. Due to its low surface tension and poor water solubility, it can be used as an industrial defoamer, effectively making the formed foam film in an unstable state and quickly defoaming. Cannot be used for food/cosmetics.
