 Thymol Usage

  1. Thymol has the characteristics of phenolic drugs, sterilization and antisepsis have a stronger effect on fungi and actinomycetes, weaker on Gram-negative bacteria, stronger bactericidal force than phenol, less irritating to skin and mucous membrane than phenol Toxicity is about 1/10 of phenol.
  2. Thymol has a strong sense of paralysis. Oral thymol can be completely absorbed by the intestinal tract. About 50% of the metabolites in the form of thymolone combined with glucuronic acid and sulfuric acid are excreted in the urine.
