Sodium beta-hydroxybutyrate Application

  1. This product can be used as a nutritional supplement in nutritional supplements for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
  2. This product can be used to make ketone based products.
  3. Sodium 3-hydroxybutyrate is widely present in nature, human blood and urine. It exhibits optical activity and can be crystallized in pure state. Hydroxyl groups can be associated, easily soluble in water, ethanol, ether, dry steam and easy to decompose. Due to the existence of the polar group OH, its acidity is enhanced, and it is prone to esterification reaction with alcohol or acid.
  4. The polymer of sodium 3-hydroxybutyrate can be decomposed by microorganisms under aerobic or anaerobic conditions, so it can be applied to biodegradable plastics, but there is no large-scale industrial production. At present, the plastic industry is developing rapidly. Its annual output has reached 100 million tons, of which China is about 4 million tons.
