Shellac uses

Shellac Chemical properties

Dark brown transparent flakes or powder, crisp and firm. Odorless, slightly special smell. The melting point is 115～120℃, the softening point is 70～80℃, and the relative density is 1.02～1.12. Soluble in ethanol, 5% to 10% in ether. Insoluble in water, but soluble in alkaline aqueous solution. There are two kinds of products, waxy products and dewaxed products.
