Description of Monetite
- Dicalcium phosphate is the calcium phosphate with the formula CaHPO4. The “di” prefix in the common name arises because the formation of the HPO42– anion involves the removal of two protons from phosphoric acid, H3PO4.
- It is also known as dibasic calcium phosphate or calcium monohydrogen phosphate. There are three crystalline forms: a dihydrate, CaHPO4•2H2O (‘DPCD’), the mineral brushite; a hemihydrate, CaHPO4•0.5H2O; and anhydrous CaHPO4, (‘DCPA’), the mineral monetite. Below pH 4.8 the dihydrate and anhydrous forms of dicalcium phosphate are the most stable (insoluble) of the calcium phosphates. Dicalcium phosphate is used as a food additive, it is found in some toothpastes as a polishing agent and is a biomaterial. In the dihydrate (brushite) form it is found in some kidney stones and in dental calculi.

What is Calciumphosphate?
- With the progress of science and technology and the development of society, chemical products have invariably permeated our daily lives, in medicine, food, cosmetics, electronics, industry, and other areas, becoming an essential part of our lives. One such product is Monetite which has developed particularly rapidly in recent years. Do you know about Monetite?
- The official answerCalcium hydrogen phosphate is an inorganic substance, the chemical formula is CaHPO4, white monoclinic crystalline powder, odourless and tasteless, easily soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute nitric acid, acetic acid, slightly soluble in water (100 ℃, 0.025%), insoluble in ethanol, usually in the form of dihydrate (CaHPO4-2H2O). Its dihydrate is stable in the air, and it starts to lose water of crystallization to become anhydrous when heated to 75℃ and becomes pyrophosphate at high temperature.
What’s the application of Calciumphosphate?
Used as auxiliary feed for poultry, it can promote feed digestion, and also treat rickets, chondropathy and anaemia of livestock.
