• Ferrocene is an organometallic compound with the formula Fe(C5H5)2. It is the prototypical metallocene, a type of organometallic chemical compound consisting of two cyclopentadienyl rings bound on opposite sides of a central metal atom. What’s the application of Ferrocene?

• DICYCLOPENTADIENYLIRON can be used as a rocket fuel additive, an anti-explosive agent for gasoline and curing agent for rubber and silicone resin, and also as an ultraviolet absorber. The vinyl derivatives of DICYCLOPENTADIENYLIRON can polymerize with alkene bonds to obtain metal-containing polymers with carbon chain skeleton, which can be used as the outer coating of spacecraft. DICYCLOPENTADIENYLIRON’s smoke-extinguishing and combustion-boosting effects were discovered earlier, and it can be added to solid fuels, liquid fuels, or gaseous fuels, especially for hydrocarbons that produce a lot of smoke during combustion. Its addition to gasoline has a good anti-shock effect, but it is limited by the deposition of iron oxide on the spark plug, which affects firing, and for this reason, iron drainage mixtures are also used to reduce iron deposition.
