• It is used in the production of dyes, pharmaceuticals, surfactants, herbicides, rubber vulcanization accelerators, ion exchange resins, etc. Ethylamine is an intermediate for the fungicides fenoxycarb and acetamiprid, the insecticides aminopyralid, and the herbicides atrazine, cyproheptadine, simazine, gramophone, diquat, etc. It is used in the production of pesticide triazine herbicides, including atrazine and simazine ([122-34-9]). These two herbicides both use trimethoprim as raw material and have similar production processes. Atrazine (also known as trimazin), which has a wider application range than simazine and is capable of killing simazine-resistant weeds, was developed and produced by the Swiss company Kaki in 1985 and later developed into the world’s most-produced herbicide. Ethylamine is also used in the production of dyes, rubber accelerators, surfactants, antioxidants, ion exchange resins, aircraft fuel, solvents, detergents, lubricants, metallurgical concentrators, as well as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Used in organic synthesis, also used as dye intermediates, stabilizers, and emulsifiers for the synthesis of organic resins and dyes.
