What is cellulose acetate butyrate?
The hydroxyl group in the cellulose molecule is a cellulose ester formed by co-esterification of acetic acid and butyric acid. It is a thermoplastic resin with 12% -15% acetyl groups and 26% -39% butyryl groups. Transparent to opaque white particles, density 1.15-1.22, melting temperature 140 ℃, long-term use temperature 60-104 ℃. Good toughness, weather resistance, cold resistance and electrical insulation, easy to process.
Cellulose acetate butyrate Usage
- This product can be used to make oil-resistant and gasoline-resistant packaging film, photosensitive film base, infusion pipeline, automobile steering wheel and other parts, cable and wire coating, road signs, lamps, transparent drawing board, etc.
- Treat cellulose with acetic acid or butyric acid, and then esterify with a mixture of acetic acid, acetic anhydride, butyric acid and butyric anhydride under the catalysis of sulfuric acid.
