5. Character: It’s white loose fine powder, odorless and slight bitter. Relative density is 1.50. It has strong moisture absorption. It will be broken up into CaCO3 and acetoneS when heated to 160ºC. Highly soluble in water. Slightly soluble in ethanol.
1.Calcium acetatecan be usedasused as chelating agent, mildew-retarding agent, stabilizer, buffering agent, flavoring agent, preservatives, curing agent,nutrient supplement, PH value regulator and processing agentin foods.
2.Calcium acetate is used as food additive, as a stabilizer, buffer and sequestrant, mainly in candy products under the number E263. It also neutralizes fluoride in water. Calcium Acetate is one of the popular food additives and ingredients in most countries.
