Bright yellow crystal, odorless and tasteless. Almost insoluble in water, alcohol, ether and chloroform, but soluble in dilute lye.
This product is an astringent and antiseptic, and is used externally for skin diseases such as eczema.
Using gallic acid and bismuth nitrate to form a salt, one step reaction is to obtain bismuth gallate. Put the gallic in a stainless steel tank and an appropriate amount of water, heat it to 90°C to dissolve it, and filter to obtain the gallic acid aqueous solution.
Take another bismuth nitrate and add a little hot water, stir until there is no bismuth nitrate particles, add the gallic acid aqueous solution under stirring, continue stirring for 0.5h, and discharge.
After precipitation and filtration, the filter cake was washed with water at 50°C, filtered again after no sourness, and dried below 70°C to obtain bismuth hypogallate.
