Description of Luperox A98
- Benzoyl peroxide (BPO) is an organic compound in the peroxide family. It consists of two benzoyl groups bridged by a peroxide link. Its structural formula is (C6H5CO)2O2. It is one of the most important organic peroxides in terms of applications and the scale of its production. Benzoyl peroxide is used as an acne treatment, for bleaching flour, hair and teeth, for cross-linking polyester resins, and for many other purposes.

What’s the application of Benzoyl peroxide?
- In addition to the powder type with 98.0% purity, there are various commercial specifications of benzoyl peroxide products produced in Japan, such as paste type (50% of the product and 50% of plasticizer), liquid type (75% of the product and 25% of water), and flour cooking bleaching type (19% to 22% of the product is diluted with one or more of alum, calcium phosphate, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, carbonic acid, or flour). Powder-type products are mainly used as polymerization initiation catalysts for acrylic resins, MMA resins, etc. In recent years, it is being promoted as a fast binder for highway engineering, etc. Paste-type products are used as curing catalysts for the polyester resin molding process by Chemical book. The liquid type is used as a polymerization catalyst for the preparation of polystyrene resin. It is a strong oxidizer, sensitive to impact and friction, and has a high risk of explosion, so contact with metal powder, activated carbon, and reducing agents should be avoided. Storage must be water as a stabilizer, water content of 30%, storage temperature of 30 ℃ or less.
