Ammonium bromide-properties

Colorless diamond crystal or white crystalline powder. Odorless and salty. d25 2.429, sublimated at 540℃. Soluble in water and alcohol, slightly soluble in ether. It is slightly hygroscopic when placed in the air, and decomposes slightly, and a small amount of bromine is precipitated to make the color yellow. It is stable to light and air in its pure state. The aqueous solution is neutral or weakly acidic, and reacts with silver nitrate to form a pale yellow silver bromide precipitate.
