Albendazole Usage

It is used to treat Hydatid disease (echinococcosis) and infection of the nervous system caused by pork tapeworms (neurocysticercosis), also for Hookworm, Ascariasis, Whipworm and Strongyloidiasi.

Used as an analytical reagent, and also used in the synthesis of resins and medicines; Widely used in the manufacture of chewable tablets such as sobering drugs and mouth refreshing agents, and its granule type is exclusively used as an excipient for direct compression.

Dehydration drugs, diuretics. Treatment of cerebral edema and glaucoma, acute oliguria, prevention of acute renal failure, treatment of edema of nephrotic syndrome. Note: injection is prohibited for patients with active intracranial hemorrhage (except for craniotomy).

Albendazole Chemical nature

This product is white crystalline powder; odorless and sweet. Easily soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol and ether. The melting point is 166-170°C. The boiling point is 290-295°C. It is relatively stable in a sterile solution and is not easily oxidized by oxygen in the air.

The injection is a sterile aqueous solution of mannitol, a colorless and clear liquid. Mannitol is a polyol sugar, and the osmotic pressure of 5.07% aqueous solution is equal to that of serum.

Its hypertonic solution has dehydration and diuretic effects. Very little absorption in the intestines after oral administration. Intravenous injection is mainly distributed in extracellular fluid.

In the body, only a small part becomes glycogen in the liver, and most of it is excreted in the urine without changing. Intravenous injection or intravenous infusion for 10 minutes starts diuretic effect, reaches the peak in 2-3 hours, and maintains 6-8 hours. Dehydration is effective in reducing intracranial pressure within 15 minutes for 3-8 hours, and reducing intraocular pressure for 30-60 minutes is effective for 4-6 hours. In nature, the content of mannitol in seaweed and kelp is relatively high. The content in the lotion washed by seaweed can reach 2%, and the lotion of kelp contains about 1.5%.
