Main uses of Methyl salicylate
1. The product has a limited and strong odor similar to water-like grass. When used as a spice, it is often used as an excipient for cavity medicine and paint in pharmaceutical preparations. It is also used in the blending of general flavors, such as molluscs and other spices. Application, other oral medicines such as chewing gum and mouthwash are also used. Methyl salicylate is also used as a solvent and intermediate for the manufacture of pesticides, fungicides, fragrances, coatings, cosmetic inks and fiber dye additives.
