What is citronellal?
Citronellal is the main component of citronella oil. Unstable when exposed to air, sunlight and alkali.
Rhodinal (Citronellal) Usage
- Citronellal is mainly used as a raw material for the synthesis of citronellol, hydroxycitronellal, menthol, etc. It can be used for small amounts of low-grade lemon, cologne, magnolia, lily of the valley, honey and spices, mainly because it has the effect of grass green gas.
- Citronellal is seldom used in high-end fragrances, but is often used in cheap soap fragrances. Mainly used to manufacture vanillyl alcohol and hydroxycitronella vinegar. Synthetic menthol is produced by menthol. Among them, hydroxycitronellal is one of the most valuable spices.
