What is Acetophenone ?

• With the progress of science and technology and the development of society, chemical products have invariably permeated our daily lives, in medicine, food, cosmetics, electronics, industry, and other areas, becoming an essential part of our lives. • The official answer：The pure product is white plate-like crystals, the general commodity contains impurities, above 20 ℃ for colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid. It has a strong acacia-like sweet aroma. Melting point 19.7℃, boiling point 202℃, flash point 76℃, can spontaneously combust. Very soluble in propylene glycol, non-volatile oil, soluble in chloroform, ether, and ethanol (1ml soluble in 5mL 50% ethanol), | slightly soluble in water and propylene glycol, insoluble in glycerol.

What’s the application of Acetophenone ?

• It can be used together with anisaldehyde and coumarin in hawthorn flowers, sunflower, newly mown grass, lavender, chamomile, lilac, mimosa, acacia, and other types of fragrances. Because of the low price, often used in small amounts (<1%) for soap, detergents, and industrial products fragrance. Can also be used in small amounts for edible flavors, such as almond, cherry, pecan, vanilla bean, black vanilla bean fragrance. Tobacco flavoring can also be used. When used as a solvent, it has a high boiling point, a stable and pleasant smell. Its solubility is similar to cyclohexanone, and it can dissolve nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, vinyl resin, coumarone resin, alkyd resin, glycerol alkyd resin, etc. It is often mixed with ethanol, ketone, ester, and other solvents. When used as a fragrance, it is a blending material for hawthorn, mimosa, lilac, and other fragrances, and is widely used in soap fragrances and tobacco fragrances. Used in the synthesis of phenylethanoid acid, α-phenylindole, isobutylpropionic acid, etc. Also used as a plasticizer for plastics. Used as raw material for manufacturing fragrance and medicine, also used as plasticizer and solvent
