A new experimental method for the preparation of p-nitrotoluene is: fuming nitric acid as a nitrifying agent, solid NaHSO as catalyst (recyclable), in CCl4 solution, add acetic anhydride (with dehydration), 45 ℃ reactions for 1 h. After the reaction, filtered, the filtrate was washed with 5% NaHCO3, solution, water to neutral, and then separated and purified to obtain p-nitrotoluene.
