2,2,4-Trimethylpentane Usage

1. It is a standard fuel for determining gasoline octane number (vibration resistance). It is mainly used as an additive for gasoline and aviation gasoline, as well as a non-polar inert solvent in organic synthesis.
2. Used as analytical reagent and solvent
3. Isooctane is a standard substance for testing the anti-knock performance of gasoline. The octane numbers of isooctane and heptane are specified as 100 and 0, respectively. If the gasoline sample is in a single-cylinder engine, under the specified test conditions, if its anti-knock performance is equivalent to a certain composition of isooctane-heptane mixture, then the octane number of the sample is equal to the volume of isoisoane in the standard fuel percentage. Gasoline with good anti-knock performance has high octane number.
