What’s the application of 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole?
- This product is widely used in various rubbers as a general-purpose vulcanization accelerator. It has a fast accelerating effect on natural rubber and synthetic rubber which is usually vulcanized by sulfur. However, activation of zinc oxide, fatty acid, etc. is required for use. It is often used with other accelerator systems, such as tellurium dithiocarbamate and tellurium dithiocarbamate as an accelerator for butyl rubber; it can be used with lead trisodium maleate for light-colored water-resistant chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber. It is often used with dithiocarbamate in latex and can be vulcanized at room temperature when used with diethyldithiocarbamate diethylamine. The product is easy to disperse and not polluted in rubber. However, because of its bitter taste, it is not suitable for food contact rubber products. Promoter M is the intermediate of promoter MZ, DM, NS, DIBS, CA, ChemicalbookDZ, NOBS, MDB, etc. 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole and 1-amino-4-nitroanthraquinone and potassium carbonate refluxed in dimethylformamide for 3h, can produce the dye disperse brilliant red S-GL (C.I. DisperseRed121). This dye is used for dyeing polyester and its blended fabrics. 2-mercaptobenzothiazole is also called acid copper plating brightener M when used as an electroplating additive and is used as a paving brightener when copper sulfate is the main salt of bright copper plating. In addition, the product is also used to make pesticide fungicide, nitrogen fertilizer synergists, cutting oil and lubricating additives, organic anti-graying agents in photographic chemistry, metal corrosion inhibitors, etc… In addition, it is also a reagent for chemical analysis.
